First published July 30, 2026 · Last verified September 12, 2026

Dreame is a privately held technology business founded by Yu Hao. Its documented Xiaomi and Shunwei investment history does not establish Xiaomi as its parent. The portfolio extends from robot vacuums and floor washers to lawn, pool, window-cleaning and other home categories in selected markets.

World Clean Biz is an independent industry publication and is not affiliated with Dreame, MOVA or Xiaomi. Dreame is privately held, and historical financing announcements do not establish a complete current cap table.

Company & Ownership

Dreame is a privately held company founded and led by Yu Hao. A 2020 company financing announcement identified Xiaomi Corporation and Shunwei Capital as returning shareholders and said Dreame had joined the Xiaomi ecosystem in 2017; it did not identify Xiaomi as parent or controller. The current complete ownership and voting structure is not publicly disclosed. MOVA is a separate consumer brand described on its regional site as powered by Dreame Technology, but its products, apps and contracting entities should not be treated as interchangeable with Dreame.

Competitive Position

World Clean Biz assessment: Dreame combines a fast-widening portfolio—from robot and upright floorcare into yard, pool, personal-care and home appliances—with ecommerce, distributors and a growing physical-store network. Its Xiaomi ecosystem history accelerated the early business but does not define current legal ownership. The strategic pressure is organizational: Dreame must convert rapid category launches and high marketing intensity into durable service, quality and channel economics while Roborock and Ecovacs contest the same premium floorcare and offline experience space.
