The Unified Patent Court's Düsseldorf Local Division revoked an inspection and evidence-preservation order obtained by ECOVACS against Roborock on December 19, 2025. The decision in UPC_CFI_834/2025 followed Roborock's request for review of an order issued without it being heard beforehand.

The original application concerned products exhibited in Berlin. In his published account, patent lawyer Willem Hoyng said ECOVACS had presented the exhibition as the only opportunity to gather evidence of alleged infringement. Roborock challenged that account, arguing that the products could readily have been purchased through Amazon and that the court had not received complete information.

The account of the Düsseldorf order says the court found the application did not satisfy the disclosure requirements of Rule 192.3 of its Rules of Procedure. It concluded that it would not have granted the order had the relevant information been properly presented. The inspection authorization was therefore revoked.

Confidentiality obligations remained in force for the people who carried out the inspection. The ruling addressed how evidence had been obtained and the information needed to justify that process. It did not amount to a final determination on the alleged patent infringement or patent validity, leaving those substantive questions distinct from the procedural outcome.
