Roborock Files UPC Sealing-Structure Claim against ECOVACS
The Munich case concerns patent EP 4 011 266.
News date:

Roborock filed a patent-infringement claim against ECOVACS at the Unified Patent Court's Munich Local Division on August 31, 2026. JUVE Patent reported that the dispute concerns EP 4 011 266, a patent covering a sealing structure and smart cleaning apparatus.
The case was identified as UPC-CFI-0003142/2026. Roborock alleges that Ecovacs' products infringe the patent; the filing itself does not resolve that allegation. The dispute places a particular hardware-related patent before the court, distinct from the navigation technology involved in another case between the same companies.
Earlier in 2026, Ecovacs had brought a claim against Roborock in Düsseldorf involving a robot-localization patent. The two actions therefore concern different claimed inventions and different proceedings, even though the manufacturers are competitors in the same household cleaning market.
The Unified Patent Court provides the forum for these European patent actions. A claim starts a process in which the parties can present infringement and validity arguments; it is not equivalent to an injunction or final ruling. For the August filing, the reported development was the start of the Munich case, with the court's assessment and any resulting remedies still to follow.
