Dyson Announces W1 PencilWash with a Revised Roller and Waste-Separation Head
The next PencilWash adds a redesigned cleaning head while retaining the slim format of Dyson’s lightweight wet cleaner.
News date:

Dyson announced the W1 PencilWash on September 3, 2026, updating its lightweight wet floor-cleaning range. The UK product announcement described changes to the roller and debris handling while retaining the slim 38 mm handle format associated with the original PencilWash.
The W1 uses a hybrid roller and an anti-tangle comb. Its revised head separates wet and dry debris, addressing the mix of liquid and solid material collected during hard-floor washing. Dyson also describes a filter-free design intended to reduce maintenance associated with dirt caught in filters and internal pathways.
The company lists a complete-machine weight of 2.4 kg and a working height of 75 mm when the machine is laid flat. Those measurements relate to different aspects of use: carrying and manoeuvring the appliance, and reaching beneath furniture. They should not be confused with the diameter of the handle.
W1 PencilWash is a distinct model within the range, with its own roller, head and maintenance arrangement. The September UK announcement did not establish a universal selling price or a single worldwide retail schedule. Local packages and accessories therefore need to be matched to the W1 name, rather than carried over from the original PencilWash release.
