Dyson Announces PencilWash Lightweight Hard-Floor Cleaner
Dyson's February release introduced the original PencilWash and scheduled U.S. availability for March 17.
News date:

Dyson announced the PencilWash on February 19, 2026, introducing a lightweight cleaner for hard floors. The U.S. release scheduled availability for March 17 at a listed price of USD 349, positioning the machine around a slim handle and compact wet-cleaning head.
PencilWash supplies its roller continuously with fresh water as it travels across the floor. That arrangement combines the handling of a lightweight upright appliance with a dedicated washing function. It is a wet floor cleaner, so its role differs from a dry cordless vacuum even where the two product formats share a slender appearance.
Dyson listed a full-machine weight of 4.9 lb and a runtime of up to 30 minutes. The weight refers to the complete machine rather than the load felt at the handle, while the runtime is a maximum manufacturer specification that depends on use. Those details describe the original U.S. launch package.
The announcement predates the later W1 PencilWash update. The W1 is a separate model with its own design changes, specifications and market information. The February release therefore remains the reference for the original PencilWash's announced price and sales schedule, even as the wider range develops.
