Dyson Introduces V16 Piston Animal in the United States
The cordless vacuum combines a new cleaner head with bin compaction.
News date:

Dyson introduced the V16 Piston Animal in the United States on June 2, 2026. The U.S. launch announcement highlighted a redesigned cleaning head and dust-bin compaction system alongside manufacturer-rated suction of up to 315 air watts.
The All Floor Cones Sense head uses two conical brush bars intended to move hair off the brushes and into the airflow path. Dyson says the machine senses changes in floor type and adjusts suction and brush speed accordingly. Illumination on the head helps users see fine material on the floor during cleaning.
The CleanCompaktor mechanism compresses collected dust and debris within the bin. Its emptying action also wipes the inside of the container, addressing the residue that can remain after loose material has fallen out. These are separate maintenance features from the head's anti-tangle arrangement, even though both are designed to reduce manual handling.
Dyson's release also discussed an updated Submarine wet-cleaning head, whose inclusion depends on the selected configuration. The June announcement concerns the U.S. introduction of V16 Piston Animal after earlier presentations elsewhere. Its regional timing and package details should therefore be kept distinct from the product's first global appearance or offers in other markets.
