The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of approximately 5,000 WYBOT pool vacuums on April 9, 2026, because their lithium-ion batteries could overheat and cause burns or fires. The notice covers selected Osprey 700 Max and S1 units.

Affected model numbers are WY3312MAX and WY100MAX for Osprey 700 Max, and WY200 for S1. Coverage also depends on the serial number. The official recall notice provides the exact ranges and photographs showing the label inside the top cover, visible after removing the filter box. Owners need both the model and serial information to identify a recalled unit.

Wybotics had received ten reports of overheating or fire, occurring both during charging and while the vacuums were not charging. Nine incidents involved property damage; no injuries were reported. The units sold through Amazon, Best Buy and Wybotpool.com for approximately $500–$700, with affected sales spanning parts of 2023 and 2024.

Owners should stop using recalled units immediately and contact Wybotics for a free replacement WYBOT C2. The company provides a prepaid return label and says it will ship the replacement within fifteen days after receiving the returned vacuum. The remedy applies to the specified units, rather than the entire WYBOT range.
