iRobot Announces Roomba Max 875 Combo and Plus 678 Combo
The September product release highlights carpet sealing and different heated roller-mopping systems.
News date:

iRobot introduced Roomba Max 875 Combo and Plus 678 Combo on September 2, 2026, placing a new carpet-cleaning system alongside two different roller-mopping designs. Both products were announced with AutoWash docks in the company's launch release.
The shared SealForce system uses a mechanical skirt to concentrate airflow close to the carpet surface. iRobot lists airflow of 20 litres per second for Max 875 and 18 litres per second for Plus 678. These figures describe manufacturer specifications for the separate models, rather than a common rating across the range.
Max 875 adds ThermaMist heated-mist treatment and a lifting roller shield intended to keep wet cleaning components away from carpet. Its edge-cleaning system can extend the roller up to 45 mm toward walls and baseboards. Plus 678 instead uses SprayForce AI, which combines stain pretreatment with roller cleaning.
The launch shows iRobot developing carpet pickup and hard-floor washing together while retaining differences between product tiers. The 875 and 678 are also distinct from Roomba Duo, the two-robot prototype presented at IFA later that week. Duo's companion robot and deployment arm are not features of either of these announced Combo models.
