Husqvarna reported growth in robotic mowers and battery-powered equipment during the third quarter of 2024, despite a decline in overall sales. Its October 23 interim report recorded group revenue of SEK 9.739 billion, down 7% year on year, with organic sales falling 4%.

Within the Forest & Garden business, robotic mowers grew in both residential and professional applications. Regional conditions were mixed: Europe expanded while North America declined. The results show why demand for a particular technology can develop differently from the manufacturer's consolidated sales.

Group operating income fell to SEK 52 million from SEK 398 million a year earlier. Excluding items affecting comparability, operating income was SEK 53 million, giving a margin of 0.5%. Direct operating cash flow improved to SEK 4.020 billion, even as the earnings result weakened.

Husqvarna also described additional cost-reduction activities announced in October, targeting savings of SEK 500 million. The report covered January through September, with the quarterly figures referring specifically to July–September 2024. Its combination of product growth, weak consumer spending and cost action captures a period in which robotics and battery products were advancing inside a group facing broader pressure on volumes and profitability.
