Husqvarna Automower 312V vs WORX Landroid Vision Cloud 4WD: Wire-Free Mowers Compared
Key takeaways
  • Both drop the boundary wire, but differently: Husqvarna combines satellite navigation with an AI vision camera, WORX combines cloud-delivered RTK, a stereo camera and V-SLAM.
  • Choose the Automower 312V for gardens up to about 1,200 m² with moderate slopes and good Wi-Fi, bought through a dealer; choose the WR344 for steeper or larger lawns up to 1 acre where 4WD and 4G matter.
  • The 312V's 40% slope rating applies inside the lawn, with 15% at the boundary; the WR344 is rated to 84% (40°).

Choose the Husqvarna Automower 312V for a garden up to about 1,200 m² with moderate slopes and Wi-Fi across the whole lawn, especially if you want a dealer to install and service it. Choose the WORX Landroid Vision Cloud 4WD (WR344) for a lawn up to 1 acre with steep or uneven ground, where four-wheel drive and a 4G connection matter more than a dealer network.

Both mowers were announced in January 2026 and both do away with the boundary wire. They get there by different routes, and they suit different gardens.

Navigation: Two Ways to Lose the Wire

Husqvarna pairs satellite navigation with an AI vision camera that recognises and avoids obstacles. Position corrections come through Husqvarna Cloud, and owners draw virtual boundaries in the Automower Connect app. Husqvarna states that loop-free installation needs Wi-Fi coverage over the entire lawn, so check the signal at the far end of the garden before buying.

WORX combines RTK positioning, whose corrections arrive over the cloud rather than from an antenna in the garden, with a stereo camera and V-SLAM mapping. When trees or buildings block satellite signals, WORX says the mower switches to sensor fusion of V-SLAM, inertial data and odometry. RTK Cloud depends on coverage at the address, and WORX asks buyers to check it.

Neither system needs a pole or rooftop antenna. The practical question is which dependency your garden handles better: Wi-Fi reach for Husqvarna, or RTK Cloud and 4G coverage for WORX.

Slopes: Read Both Numbers

This is the clearest difference. WORX rates the WR344 at 84% (40°); one feature panel on the same page says 83%, so treat it as about 40°. Its four motors, independent axles and front-wheel steering are designed for steep and uneven ground.

Husqvarna rates the 312V at 40% inside the installation but only 15% at the boundary. A garden whose edge runs along a bank needs planning, because the boundary limit is the lower one.

Lawn Size and Cutting

The 312V is rated for 1,200 m² with a ±20% tolerance. The WR344 is rated for 1 acre, roughly 4,050 m². WORX also sells ¼, ½ and 1½-acre versions of the same 4WD platform, so check the model code.

The 312V cuts a 22 cm path with height set by hand from 20 to 50 mm. The WR344 cuts an 8.7 in path (about 22 cm) with three blades and electric height adjustment from 1.57 to 3.54 in, which can be set per zone in the app. WORX adds Cut-to-Zero edge trimming.

Buying, Service and Running Costs

Husqvarna sells the 312V through authorised dealers, available from spring 2026. That route usually means help with setup, winter servicing and blade supplies.

WORX sells directly and through retailers. Its box includes spare blade kits and a hose-washable deck, and software updates arrive over the air or by USB. Positioning relies on the RTK Cloud service and a 4G or Wi-Fi connection, so ask about any service terms before buying.

Price

Husqvarna's UK launch release gave an RRP of £1,499, and the UK product page listed £1,499 including VAT in November 2026. The WORX US page showed a placeholder rather than a price when checked, and the January launch release did not state one. Ask WORX or a retailer for a dated local price.
