Worth considering for

Where it makes sense

S3 is a practical comparison point when full underwater coverage and Eco endurance matter more than camera-assisted debris targeting. Its lower checked price should be weighed against the exact navigation and pool-fit requirements.

Where Scuba S3 fits in the range

Scuba S3 addresses routine underwater cleaning with a simpler proposition than the V3: a cordless machine for the floor, walls and waterline, with dToF sensing and WavePath 2.0 path planning. The current US store identifies it as a 2026 model and places it below V3 in the checked standalone offers.

The practical distinction is camera-assisted perception. Aiper’s detailed comparison marks S3’s AI features as absent, even though some page titles use broad AI wording. This guide follows the model-specific feature table. A buyer who specifically wants visual debris recognition should compare V3, rather than assume every new Scuba uses the same perception system.

Match the cleaner to the pool boundary

The published area rating is approximately 150 square metres, but area does not describe all the surfaces a robot must traverse. Check wall finishes, floor-to-wall curves, steps and narrow sections before ordering. The compatibility list names concrete, fibreglass, vinyl and tile; the supplier still needs to confirm unusual layouts.

JetAssist concerns horizontal cleaning at the waterline. That is useful to distinguish from collecting leaves floating away from the walls. The detailed coverage table does not list surface skimming. If floating debris is the main problem, account for a separate skimmer or another model with an explicit surface function instead of treating broad zone-count language as a complete description.

Four hours is an Eco figure

The four-hour headline applies to Eco mode. Aiper separately states a maximum of three hours in Standard mode, so a comparison should keep the operating conditions visible. A longer low-power session does not automatically establish faster removal of a heavy debris load.

Plan around how often the pool needs attention and how long the charger will be occupied. The listed charging time is about four hours. A filter full of leaves or fine sediment can also require intervention before a cycle ends, meaning the useful unattended interval depends on both battery endurance and the amount of material collected.

Versions and market differences

The US listing labels Scuba S3 as 2026 New. Aiper also documented its Australian introduction in an August 2026 announcement, following a launch event on the Gold Coast. That regional event is useful evidence of the current range, but it does not establish the first day the cleaner was sold in the United States.

This guide uses the standalone US package and the $649.99 offer checked on 12 September. A skimmer bundle, additional care plan or another country’s package can change the contents and total cost. Keep those differences separate from the product’s cleaning specifications, and confirm replacement-filter compatibility using the actual model number rather than the Scuba family name alone.

Maintenance and ownership

The top-loading basket has a coarse filter and an ultra-fine layer. Their different jobs are worth understanding: basket volume indicates room for debris, while the micron rating describes the intended filtration fineness. Neither number guarantees that the filter can remain untouched for the entire scheduled cleaning period.

Build basket inspection and cleaning into the routine, following the supplied care instructions. Check the brushes and sensing surfaces when coverage changes, and contact support for faults that persist after normal maintenance. The quick-drain design and waterline return assist removal, but the owner still needs a stable place to stand, lift the machine and move it to the charging location.

Compare navigation, retrieval and running cost

S3 and V3 share the same listed maximum flow and basket capacity. V3 adds AI vision, while S3 advertises a longer Eco maximum. V3 Ultra adds surface and shallow-area functions. These are distinct purchase decisions; there is no useful universal ranking that reduces them to a single flow or runtime figure.

Before buying, ask which cleaning zone creates the most work and whether someone can comfortably retrieve the robot after each required session. Then check local filter supply, charging space and warranty terms. WCB has not performed a pool trial, so the guide uses those verifiable features and ownership questions without assigning an invented performance score.

Questions about Aiper Scuba S3

Is Scuba S3 part of the 2026 range?

Yes. The US store labels it 2026 New, and Aiper’s August 2026 Australian announcement names Scuba S3 in its new range. The Australian event date is not presented as the first US sale date.

Does S3 use the same AI vision as V3?

No. The detailed official comparison marks S3’s AI features as absent. Its feature page specifies WavePath 2.0 with dToF sensing; V3 adds camera-assisted AI vision.

How long does it run?

Aiper lists up to 180 minutes in Standard mode and 240 minutes in Eco mode. Pool geometry, cleaning load and selected mode affect actual endurance.

Does four-zone coverage include skimming floating leaves?

The detailed US table lists the floor, walls and waterline. This guide does not infer a surface-skimming function from the broader four-zone marketing phrase.

What filters are supplied?

The official US FAQ describes a 180-micron standard filter and a 3-micron ultra-fine layer, with a 3.5-litre top-loading basket. Confirm the exact replacement insert for the purchased model.

Does app control remove the need to retrieve it?

No. Waterline return and notifications make collection easier, but the owner still needs to lift, charge and service the cleaner.

What is the current checked price?

The standalone US S3 offer was $649.99 on 12 September 2026, with $799.99 displayed as the reference price. A skimmer bundle and optional care plans are separate purchases.
