Stanley Black & Decker, the owner of DEWALT, CRAFTSMAN and BLACK+DECKER, reported third-quarter 2026 net sales of USD 3.73 billion on November 4, down 1% from a year earlier. Organic sales grew 4%: volume added 6% and pricing reduced sales by 2%, while businesses sold in the past year took 4% off the total.
The Tools & Outdoor segment, which includes the company's power tool, hand tool and outdoor brands, had sales of USD 3.34 billion (USD 3,336 million), up 2%. Organic growth was 4%, led by power tools and by U.S. retail and commercial and industrial customers. The move to a licensing model for gas walk-behind outdoor products reduced segment sales by 2%. Engineered Fastening sales fell 21% to USD 396 million, mainly because of the sale of its aerospace fastening business.
Net earnings were USD 272.1 million, compared with USD 51.4 million a year earlier. The quarterly report records a pre-tax gain of USD 180.7 million in cost of sales from IEEPA tariff refunds. In the results release, the company says net tariff refunds added about 430 basis points to its 39.0% gross margin and about USD 0.67 to earnings per share.
The company raised its full-year guidance. It now expects 2026 adjusted earnings per share of USD 5.95 to USD 6.25, up from USD 5.20 to USD 5.80, and free cash flow of USD 1.0 billion to USD 1.2 billion. The quarter follows the second-quarter update, when the company also raised its outlook.
