Makita Interim Revenue Rises 9.6%, with Currency and Tariff Effects
Local-currency sales were broadly flat; tariff refunds supported the profit increase.
News date:

Makita reported April–September 2026 revenue of JPY 414.713 billion, up 9.6%, and operating profit of JPY 63.335 billion, up 23.0%, in its October 30 interim results. The operating margin was 15.3%.
The company said sales were broadly unchanged in local currencies, with yen weakness lifting reported revenue. U.S. tariff refunds helped improve its cost ratio. The results therefore should not be read as equivalent growth in underlying product demand.
Makita maintained its full-year forecasts of JPY 820 billion in revenue and JPY 110 billion in operating profit. This is the first half of its year ending March 2027, following the April–June update, and covers the whole group rather than cleaning equipment alone.
