Pudu Unveils TOMO S, a Home Robot Mower That Sharpens Its Own Blades
The commercial service-robot maker's first consumer mower line is due on sale in early spring 2027.
News date:

Pudu Robotics announced the PUDU TOMO S Series on November 3, 2026, in a release datelined Amsterdam. It is the company's first robotic mower line for homes, following the GT Series of commercial mowers it launched in September.
The headline feature is SharpLoop, which sharpens the rotary blades at the charging station when needed, so the mower can cycle through mowing, returning, sharpening and mowing again without the owner changing blades. Pudu calls TOMO S the first self-sharpening rotary-blade robotic mower. That is the company's own claim.
The series comes in three versions for lawns of 1,500 m² to 5,000 m². Pudu did not name the individual models in the release. All of them work without boundary wire. Navigation combines 360° LiDAR, AI vision and network RTK, which gives centimetre-level positioning without a local reference station, and the mower maps the lawn on its first run.
Each wheel has its own hub motor. Pudu rates the all-wheel drive for slopes of up to 45° and says the independent suspension can cross obstacles of up to 6 cm. A floating deck follows the ground, and an offset deck with side sensing and a side bumper is designed to cut close to walls, trees and flower beds.
Sales are expected to start in early spring 2027. Pudu has not announced prices or which markets it will sell in first. Chief executive Felix Zhang presented the line as applying the company's commercial robotics experience to the home.
The launch adds another Chinese robotics company to a wire-free mower segment already crowded with Mammotion, Segway Navimow, Dreame, Ecovacs and Sunseeker. Pudu describes itself as the world's largest commercial service-robot maker by revenue and shipments, with more than 130,000 robots shipped to over 85 countries and regions. A home mower takes it into consumer retail, where it has little track record. The company opened a European headquarters in Neuss, Germany, in October.
