Rover X10 combines surface skimming and underwater cleaning in one platform, with a large debris basket, mapping sensors and controlled movement around pool features. MOVA includes it in its 2026 product lineup. The timing needs care: the manufacturer’s German product page says it was demonstrated at IFA in September 2025. Its inclusion here reflects the 2026 market launch, not a claim that nobody had seen it before that year.

For an owner moving from a floor-only cleaner, the relevant change is the ability to address more than settled debris. For an owner with an effective separate skimmer, that addition may duplicate a job already covered. No verified direct-predecessor test supports a percentage improvement, so the sensible comparison starts with what your existing equipment leaves unfinished.

Surface and floor modes compete for time

A robot skimming the surface is not simultaneously brushing the bottom. Choose the mode around the problem: floating leaves after wind, settled material after a busy weekend, or routine waterline care. A long surface-runtime claim is useful only if surface debris is what needs attention. Compare schedules with a dedicated skimmer before replacing two devices with one.

Mapping is valuable where the pool is awkward

The important places to observe are step approaches, corners, drains and transitions between depths. Ask for a complete route around a similar layout, then inspect the areas that were hardest to reach. A map shown in an app is useful context, but it cannot establish that debris was removed. Lighting, water clarity and geometry can all change how representative a demonstration is.

Basket size and filter fineness answer different needs

A larger basket can hold more bulky material. Finer filtration targets smaller particles and can require more frequent cleaning. Start with the actual mix of debris and inspect the filter after the first few runs. Do not assume the finest element is always the most convenient setting, particularly when the pool is full of leaves after a storm.

Retrieval assistance still ends with lifting

Automatic parking can make the robot easier to reach, but someone still has to remove it, manage drainage and get it to the charging position. Try that route at the actual pool edge. Consider coping height, slippery surfaces and the distance to a covered storage area. Handling effort can become the deciding factor even when two cleaners have similar headline specifications.

Where it fits — and where to look elsewhere

Pools with heavy mixed debris: the larger basket and multiple modes make Rover worth shortlisting. Test how often you actually need to empty it and whether switching tasks reduces the work you do by hand.

Pools with steps or tanning ledges: request a demonstration with comparable geometry. A shallow-area mode is not a universal minimum-depth guarantee. WCB has not verified one minimum shelf depth for this US reference, so the page does not borrow a number from another brand.

Owners seeking minimal lifting or automatic filter washing: compare the physical routine carefully. Rover’s wireless charging base is not the same type of installation as Beatbot’s filter-washing station. If washing the basket is the task you most want removed, charging convenience alone will not solve that problem.

Versions and market differences

This page uses the US Rover X10 listing and the official manual for model PIXZ6111. Check the label, power adapter, included AquaSonar accessory and filter package when comparing international offers. The price card records a current US listing and its displayed reference price; it does not turn that reference into an assumed original launch MSRP.

One discrepancy deserves explicit attention. The storefront advertises an IPX8 charging dock, while the manual lists IPX7 for the dock and requires indoor or covered, dry outdoor use. Plan the installation around the manual and ask the manufacturer to clarify the exact supplied unit. Do not treat the marketing rating as permission to leave the charger in rain.

Maintenance and ownership

Follow the manual’s filter, brush and storage instructions. Inspect the basket after retrieval, clear trapped material and keep the charging arrangement in its specified environment. Water-condition limits describe where the machine can operate; they are not recommended targets for the pool’s chemical balance.

Budget for replacement filter elements, brushes, possible battery service and the time spent rinsing and moving the robot. WCB has not verified a complete local consumables price list, so this guide avoids a fabricated annual cost. Ask for compatible part numbers and delivery times, especially if the pool needs frequent cleaning during peak season. The US store advertises up to three years of warranty; verify component coverage and the repair process for the robot, communication accessory and charger separately.

No. MOVA’s German page identifies a public demonstration at IFA in September 2025. It appears in the manufacturer’s CES and product-launch material for 2026; this library treats it as a 2026 market launch, not a first-ever reveal.

Does the 12-hour figure apply to floor cleaning?

No. The US page distinguishes up to 12 hours of surface cleaning from up to six hours on the floor. Compare rivals in the same mode.
