ULTRAMARINE P1 reached the US market in May 2026 after its CES preview. The manufacturer’s announcement placed it at USD 499.99. Its core proposition is a cordless cleaner for debris on the pool floor and walls, with fine filtration and a relatively simple ownership routine. That makes it a different purchase from a premium robot designed around floating-leaf collection or a filter-washing station.

Start by identifying where your debris accumulates. Sand resting on the bottom, dirt along the waterline and leaves floating after a windy afternoon are separate cleaning jobs. P1 addresses the first two types of route; its manual does not describe roaming across the water surface as a skimmer. A buyer who already has effective surface collection may therefore have different needs from someone expecting one machine to do everything.

Two filter layers for different debris

The US product page lists a coarse outer basket and a much finer inner filter. The practical benefit depends on the debris you collect and how readily the filters can be rinsed. A fine filter that becomes loaded during a heavy cleaning task needs attention; a smaller micron claim by itself does not establish better whole-pool cleaning.

Floor and wall routes with a limited operating envelope

The manual identifies separate Floor, Wall and All modes. Choose a route that matches the task rather than assuming the longest runtime applies to every mode. Wall contact, transitions around the waterline and movement past drains should be checked in a pool with similar surfaces and geometry to yours.

Pool depth matters more than a broad compatibility label

There is an important difference between the storefront’s broad platform wording and the US manual. The manual excludes step cleaning and warns about areas shallower than 50 cm. That limitation should determine the shortlist if a tanning shelf is one of the main areas you want cleaned. Do not treat successful wall climbing as evidence that the robot can handle every stair arrangement.

Hook retrieval rather than a self-returning surface routine

The documented retrieval process uses the supplied hook and an extension pole after the robot stops near the edge. Check how far you must reach from the deck and whether the handle is accessible from your usual standing position. A robot that cleans reliably but is difficult to lift will still leave a significant ownership task.

Pools dominated by settled debris: assess the floor after a complete pass and inspect what the basket collected. Look for recurring missed areas behind drains or at floor-to-wall transitions, then decide whether an additional pass is acceptable.

Pools with a shallow shelf or several steps: P1 should not be selected on the assumption that those areas will be automated. Measure the water depth and use the documented restrictions. Beatbot Sora 70 has a different shallow-platform specification, though that model also has minimum dimensions and access conditions to check.

Tree-lined pools: determine how much debris floats before sinking. A separate skimmer or a model with a documented surface mode may be more relevant than increasing underwater pump flow. Compare the complete cleaning routine, including the work your existing pool equipment already handles.

This profile follows the US storefront and the linked SWB11 instruction manual. The manual’s specification table lists 4,600 mAh typical battery capacity, while a battery-pack identifier elsewhere contains 5200. The table and the actual unit label are the appropriate references; the identifier alone should not become a battery-capacity claim.

The store also uses IP68 wording while the manual lists IPX8. These are recorded as a source discrepancy, not combined into a new rating. Likewise, the original launch price, plain-product listing and accessory bundles are separate offers. Compare the exact contents and service coverage of a local package before importing one from another region.

The manual calls for removing the robot and cleaning the basket after each task. Rinse the layers separately before dirt dries onto them, then dry the basket as instructed before reinstalling it. Its guidance recommends replacing the fine inner filter after about 150 operating hours. Actual wear and the condition of the media should also inform replacement.

On September 6, the official support page listed the outer basket at USD 39.99, inner basket at USD 24.99 and climbing-ring assembly at USD 24.99. Use these as individual parts references rather than a fixed yearly budget. Review the charging instructions carefully: the manual requires a dry indoor location away from the pool and a dry charging port. The robot’s immersion rating is not a charging-location permission.

P1 is most compelling when your main problem is underwater debris and you can accommodate hook retrieval, filter care and the stated pool-depth limits. Its case is weaker when the priority is a shallow tanning shelf, automatic surface skimming or less manual servicing.
