Worth considering for
Where it makes sense
iSkim is a complementary surface-debris tool for a sunny outdoor pool. Its value depends on how often debris lands on the surface and whether solar exposure supports the required schedule.

Buyers expecting floor or wall scrubbing, ultra-fine sediment collection, or guaranteed continuous running through prolonged shade.

Specifications, with context
Values below are manufacturer claims for the stated reference market. WCB has not independently bench-tested this model. Check the official specifications and conditions ↗
| Specification | Official claim | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Cleaning coverage | Water surface only | Does not scrub the floor, walls or submerged waterline. Source ↗ |
| Debris basket | 9 L | Large floating debris can fill the basket differently from fine particles. Source ↗ |
| Filter mesh | 550 µm / 30 mesh | Coarser surface-debris filtration than the Sora underwater-cleaner baskets. Source ↗ |
| Inlet | 29 × 270 mm | An inlet measurement, not a maximum size guarantee for every object. Source ↗ |
| Motors | Three | Two propulsion motors and one roller motor; distinct from iSkim Ultra. Source ↗ |
| Detection | Dual ultrasonic sensors and IMU | Check coverage around pool fittings and corners. Source ↗ |
| Route behaviour | Random and edge cleaning | Do not transfer iSkim Ultra’s planned S-shaped routing claim. Source ↗ |
| Battery | 10,000 mAh | Supports operation outside periods of active solar generation. Source ↗ |
| Solar panel | 24 W | Rated panel power; energy collection varies with weather and shading. Source ↗ |
| No-sun runtime | Up to 28 hours without sunlight | FAQ laboratory claim from a full charge; the table uses “28+ hours”. Solar continuity is conditional. Source ↗ |
| Adapter charging | About 4.5–5 hours; adapter sold separately | Official specification and FAQ give slightly different durations. Source ↗ |
| Solar positioning | SolarTrack light-chasing | May improve access to sunlight but cannot overcome prolonged poor weather. Source ↗ |
| Retrieval | One-click edge parking | The skimmer is already a surface device; it does not rise from the pool floor. Source ↗ |
| Connectivity | 2.4 / 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth | Supports listed app scheduling, logs and remote functions within coverage. Source ↗ |

Start with the surface-debris problem
The 2026 Beatbot iSkim targets floating leaves and other debris before they sink. That makes it relevant to outdoor pools under trees or exposed to windblown material. It does not scrub the pool bottom, climb walls or remove deposits along the submerged waterline. Establish whether surface collection is the missing part of the current maintenance routine before comparing it with a full underwater cleaner.
A surface skimmer can complement a Sora 10 or Sora 30, allowing each machine to address a different layer of the pool. It still needs to coexist with the pool’s permanent circulation and filtration system. None of those arrangements removes the need to check water chemistry and inspect the pool itself.
Read the solar claim with its conditions
The published hardware combines a 24 W solar panel with a 10,000 mAh battery. Beatbot’s FAQ quotes up to 28 hours of operation without sunlight from a fully charged battery under test conditions; the specification table uses “28+ hours”. That battery result and the broader continuous-running marketing claim describe different circumstances.
Solar collection varies with shade, weather, season and panel cleanliness. SolarTrack seeks better light, but it cannot create sunlight in a shaded pool. Assess where the pool receives light during the day and how often manual intervention would be acceptable. A period of poor weather may require a different operating schedule or separately purchased mains charging.
Basket size and actual collection
The 9 L basket is intended for surface debris. Its 550 µm mesh is considerably coarser than the standard 150 µm basket listed for the Sora underwater robots. Those numbers should not be presented as equivalent filtration: a skimmer collecting floating leaves and a floor cleaner collecting settled debris face different workloads.
The listed inlet is 29 by 270 mm. Long leaves, twigs and irregular debris do not necessarily behave like a simple measured opening. Inspect the inlet and roller, especially after windy weather, and empty the basket before a heavy load impairs collection. The nominal capacity does not determine a universal emptying interval.
Versions and market differences
Beatbot announced this iSkim in the United States on 27 April 2026. It is distinct from iSkim Ultra. The new model has three motors and random plus edge-cleaning behaviour; Ultra-specific features such as side brushes, a seven-motor configuration or a clarifier system should not be copied into its specification.
The standalone US listing showed $399 on 12 September 2026. Discounted add-on prices in a Sora bundle are a different purchase condition. The official page says the mains adapter is sold separately. Its specification and FAQ also differ slightly on charging duration, giving approximately five and 4.5 hours respectively; this guide retains that uncertainty rather than promising one exact time.
Maintenance and ownership
Solar power reduces dependence on routine plug-in charging under suitable conditions, but the machine still requires basket emptying, inlet inspection and care of the panel and moving parts. Follow the prescribed cleaning and storage procedures, and keep the panel unobstructed when the skimmer is relying on sunlight.
The FAQ gives maximum salt and chlorine concentrations of 5,000 ppm and 4 ppm respectively. Read the complete instructions for the intended pool rather than treating the ASA housing or a general saltwater claim as unlimited chemical resistance. The owner should also check the regional warranty, replacement-basket availability and accessory charger compatibility.
Match navigation to the pool layout
Dual ultrasonic sensors and an IMU support the stated random and edge-cleaning behaviour. One-click parking brings the surface device toward an edge for retrieval. It is not the same mechanism as an underwater robot returning from the floor, and it should not be described as a guaranteed route through every narrow corner or around every fitting.
Observe the first cycles around ladders, steps and the pool’s surface-flow pattern. If the main unresolved problem is sand or deposits on the bottom, a submerged cleaner is the more direct purchase. If falling debris repeatedly creates manual netting work, iSkim may fill a useful gap alongside an existing cleaner.

Is this the same as iSkim Ultra?
No. The 2026 iSkim has three motors and random/edge routing. Do not transfer Ultra features such as its seven-motor arrangement, side brushes or clarifier system to this model.
Does it clean the pool bottom?
No. iSkim collects debris at the water surface. Pair it with a suitable submerged cleaner or another floor-and-wall cleaning method.
Can it really run continuously?
Beatbot markets solar-assisted continuous operation. The separate no-sun claim is up to 28 hours from a full charge under test conditions; real continuity depends on sunlight, shading, debris load and settings.
Is a charger included?
The official page says the mains adapter is sold separately. Confirm the regional package and budget for an adapter if solar charging alone is unsuitable.
How fine is the filter?
The specification lists 550 µm, also described as 30 mesh. It is a surface-debris basket, not a substitute for fine underwater filtration or normal pool treatment.
When was iSkim launched?
Beatbot announced the US launch on 27 April 2026. This guide covers that iSkim, not the earlier iSkim Ultra.
What price was checked?
The standalone US iSkim listing showed $399 on 12 September 2026. A bundle discount should not be mistaken for its standalone price.

WCB interpretation: These models solve complementary tasks. A larger skimmer basket does not make it a replacement for a floor-and-wall cleaner.
