Narwal co-founder Wu Yihao was leaving his management positions while retaining a strategic advisory role, Southern Metropolis Daily reported on April 11, 2026. The report said Wu had confirmed plans to pursue his own entrepreneurial work.

Wu joined Narwal in 2016 and initially led software activity. His responsibilities later included product delivery, supply-chain operations and internal management, before he took charge of global marketing in 2023. That history made the change relevant to several parts of the business rather than a single regional sales team.

The newspaper sought clarification from Narwal about the reasons for the departure, the effect on company strategy and the responsibilities of the advisory role. It said no formal response had arrived by publication time. The report also noted that some corporate registrations still listed Wu in positions, illustrating that management announcements and registry updates can follow different timetables.

The development came after founder Zhang Junbin had told employees in December that the company was preparing for a possible Hong Kong listing. The personnel change does not itself establish the outcome or schedule of that process. The immediate reported change concerns Wu's operational responsibilities and continued advisory connection to the company.
