That matters because daily dust and a dried kitchen spill may call for different settings. The owner still chooses the route and steers the machine, even with powered-wheel assistance.

The steam headline refers to an internal heater reading. The hot-water and dock-temperature claims describe other parts of the system. Those figures should not be collapsed into a single temperature that supposedly reaches the floor. Ask a seller to identify the operating mode and measurement location whenever heat is presented as the main reason to purchase.

Compatibility comes before performance claims. Check whether the flooring supplier permits steam, hot water and the proposed detergent. A successful laboratory test on a particular wood sample cannot establish approval for another finish, adhesive or construction. For a mixed-floor home, plan where modes must change and where the cleaner should not be used at all.

Steam operation has a much shorter published runtime than the Auto/Eco maximum. Estimate the area you expect to steam, the time needed for difficult patches and the remaining ordinary cleaning. The warm-start claim deserves similar care: it follows prior steam operation and a short stop. It does not establish performance when first removing a cold machine from storage. Convenience is the combined experience, not one isolated fast step.

A shared body style or steering system does not prove identical steam hardware, detergent requirements or replacement rollers. Ask for the regional manual and part numbers that match the purchased model.

An announcement page and a local retail offer answer different questions. Before ordering, verify price, delivery, warranty and the included roller or solution bundle. Compare like-for-like packages and account for approved consumables. If a model is offered as an import, clarify repair arrangements before assuming the domestic brand support channel will service it.

Self-washing and drying handle parts of roller care, but collected liquid and solids still require attention. Place the dock where it is easy to reach a sink and remove the collection components. Consider splash-safe surfaces and space for parts to dry according to the manual. A machine stored in a difficult corner can make an otherwise short cleaning task inconvenient.

Price the roller, filters, collection components and approved solution locally. Inspect for trapped hair and debris as directed, even when the scraper system is designed to reduce tangling. Choose a drying cycle that suits the time available, then check the actual roller condition. A quoted air-duct temperature does not prove every recess in the collection system has dried.

Steam Gen 2 is relevant when heated cleaning addresses a recurring problem and the floor permits it. Compare its practical steam session with the foam-focused ACE Pro and the simpler PencilWash care routine. Resolve local price and support, then choose on demonstrated floor finish, comfortable steering and realistic after-use care. Keep the qualified temperature and runtime numbers attached to the conditions that produced them.
