Miele Triflex HX3 Aqua

Triflex HX3 Aqua places a dry cordless vacuum and a wet attachment in one package. The distinction between those functions is essential: Miele’s instructions state that AquaTwister mops without suction. The user removes loose debris with the vacuum, changes attachments and then performs the wet pass.

The rotating pads work against the floor while the attachment supplies moisture. They do not send dirty water into a recovery tank. This makes Aqua a different buying proposition from a suction floor washer. A household mainly seeking to collect wet kitchen spills should look closely at that limitation before treating the name or product photograph as evidence of liquid pickup.

The dry platform retains the three-layout Triflex arrangement. Moving the PowerUnit changes the balance for floor work, reaching and handheld tasks. The Aqua package adds another attachment to that system, so the purchase is partly a decision about sharing the platform across two cleaning routines.

Try the physical change between the dry head and AquaTwister, and decide where the unused head, pads and storage tray will live. Combining functions can save duplicating some equipment, but it still requires space and handling between stages. WCB has not tested stain removal, drying time or the effort required by the rotating pads on different floors.

The range marketing describes a 300 ml water container. The operating instructions give a more specific limit: a maximum of 260 ml water plus 20 ml of the specified cleaner. Use that filling instruction instead of interpreting nominal capacity as the amount of water to pour in. Follow the approved-cleaner and floor-care guidance when choosing the mixture.

Moisture delivery has three settings, including no delivery, plus a temporary wetting boost. These controls do not establish compatibility with every wood floor. The familiar 70-minute endurance claim belongs to dry operation with the PowerUnit alone; the powered-accessory dry figures are 38 minutes on Low and 15 minutes on High. None is presented here as a verified mopping-runtime measurement.

Miele previewed Triflex HX3 and AquaTwister in July 2025. Its March 2026 retail announcement subsequently scheduled availability for May. This page records the 2026 retail range while preserving that earlier history; it does not turn a retail update into a claim that the concept was first revealed in 2026.

The checked UK Obsidian Black package is product 12878440. Its current listing includes the SEB 436 dry head with BrilliantLight and the AquaTwister wet attachment. The base Brilliant White HX3 has a different listed dry head and excludes AquaTwister. After mopping, empty and clean the water container and wash the pads according to their care instructions. Allow the parts to dry as directed before storage. This package does not include an automatic pad-washing and drying station, so the user should include that manual work when assessing how convenient the system will be.

The dry vacuum has a separate care routine. Miele specifies fine-filter and pre-filter cleaning at least every three months, using the prescribed dry method for the fine filter. Wet accessories and dry filtration must not be treated as though they share a single washing procedure. Keep replacement pads and the approved cleaner available alongside the normal vacuum consumables.

For a home already vacuuming before mopping, Aqua may fit the existing sequence while sharing the Triflex platform. For a home looking to eliminate that first pass or extract dirty water, the operating principle is a more important distinction than the number of attachments in the box.

Compare the £789 UK package with the base HX3 plus the required accessories, and with alternatives that explicitly provide the desired wet-cleaning function. Then check storage space, floor compatibility and local parts supply. A clear view of the routine helps avoid paying for an appealing bundle whose main feature does not solve the household’s actual cleaning problem.
