MOVA N1

The MOVA N1 suits a home where several compatible panes need regular attention and the owner can move the robot between them. Its main buying argument is manageable handling: a large battery station may be inconvenient when carrying equipment upstairs or working through several rooms. The N1 instead places the normal power supply outside the robot. That simplifies the object being lifted, while leaving the cable, outlet and anchor to arrange before each session.

Start with a window survey rather than a suction comparison. Record the usable glass dimensions, nearby handles, access for placing the robot and a comfortable retrieval position. A robot that fits the room but cannot be safely mounted on the intended pane offers little practical value.

The Australian product specification lists a 215 mm square body and a 30 × 45 cm minimum pane. Those measurements answer different questions. Body size helps assess obstructions; minimum pane size concerns the space available for movement. Divided windows can therefore remain unsuitable even when the robot appears to fit inside the frame.

Surface preparation also matters. Grit trapped under a cloth can turn routine maintenance into a scratching risk, while stickers and uneven seals interrupt the contact area. Test your access on an easy, reachable pane first. Do not use a successful run on one window as proof that a different frame or exposed exterior pane is suitable.

The official manual separates mains operation from emergency backup. Plan the outlet and cable route before lifting the machine, and secure the safety rope to a stable, immovable anchor meeting the manual's requirements. A loose chair is not an adequate substitute merely because an advertised weight figure seems similar. The reserve battery gives time for retrieval after power loss; it does not turn this into a cordless model.

The same distinction applies to remote operation. App control is useful for steering a robot to a reachable position, but successful connection does not establish that the installation is safe. Keep the controls available and remain able to intervene throughout the task.

The N1 combines mist application with a wiping cloth. There is no dirty-water extraction system, so the condition of the cloth influences what the next pass deposits on the glass. For a home with dirty exterior panes and cleaner interior glass, plan separate clean cloths rather than carrying the same loaded pad through the whole job.

A second pass can be useful to assess remaining marks, but repeated cycles are not a remedy for unsuitable detergent, damaged glass or poorly fitted cloths. Inspect the result from different light angles after the surface dries. Treat the manufacturer's area-per-fill figure as a refill-planning reference, not a promise that every pane will finish streak-free in one run.

This guide uses Australian specifications and the local manual. MOVA's regional manual index identifies a 2026 launch, without establishing a precise global release day. Australian pricing was AUD 549 with a backorder label when checked on 12 September 2026. Buyers should establish dispatch timing before scheduling a job around delivery.

An overseas listing can differ in plug, supplied accessories, support arrangements and price. Request the actual box contents and local replacement-cloth availability. The published minimum pane should also be checked on the exact regional documentation rather than copied from another compact window robot, including another brand with an equally sized body.

Budget for replacement cloths, the specified window-cleaning solution and time to clean the machine after use. Washable pads reduce disposable consumption, but a worn or contaminated pad still needs replacement. Inspect the tether and cable along with the cleaning surfaces; consumable availability is only one part of keeping the system usable.

Follow the manual's separate procedure for cleaning the moving tracks. Dry the sensors and accessories, empty the tank as directed, and avoid storing the robot with a damp pad attached. Before the next session, check backup charge and prepare the cloth correctly. Consistent setup and maintenance are a better ownership target than chasing the highest advertised pressure.
