The R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry addresses a different buying problem from R1: the owner wants loose debris collected and hard floors washed within a scheduled routine. That can be useful in a kitchen or open-plan living area where a vacuum-only pass leaves a second chore. The machine still depends on a suitable layout, compatible flooring and somebody looking after the water system.

WCB’s assessment is based on manufacturer information rather than a hands-on cleaning test. Evaluate the purchase around your rooms and daily dirt load. A useful demonstration would include an ordinary dried spill, debris near a cabinet edge and the transition back to the dock after washing.

Dyson uses Reuleaux-shaped pads, with curved triangular edges intended to improve contact in corners. The practical question is whether the robot can position those pads close enough to your walls, furniture and recessed plinths. Geometry alone cannot establish full coverage of every room. Inspect the remaining strip at the edge after a complete cleaning pass.

Its dry pickup system combines a mechanical brush action with airflow. When comparing against another robot, use the same debris and surfaces and account for how many passes are required. Suction figures reported under different manufacturers’ test setups do not provide a reliable league table of everyday cleaning performance.

The dock needs more than its measured footprint: tanks must be removable, the return route must remain clear and the owner needs convenient access for cleaning. Think through that routine before choosing a location underneath shelving or beside a frequently moved chair. Water handling becomes less attractive if every refill requires awkward lifting or moving the station.

For rugs, verify the exact washing restrictions and pad behavior on the regional machine. The checked UK listing does not provide enough detail to specify a mop-lift measurement. Start with a supervised route around the most sensitive floor transitions and use the app’s boundaries where appropriate. Avoid assuming another Nurovi model behaves identically.

They should not be assumed to arrive through a later R2 app update.

Automated pad care reduces part of the work after a run, but used water and collected solids still require attention. Plan to inspect the pads and recovery area, empty waste before it becomes a problem and replenish clean water according to the model instructions. The dry-debris storage headline does not describe an interval for leaving dirty water untouched.

R2 makes the clearest case when washing is a frequent chore and the floor plan gives the robot useful access. A home dominated by carpets may gain less from its wet system, while a home with many delicate rugs needs closer attention to transitions. Buyers with limited storage should measure a suitable service location before considering headline features.

During the return period, run a realistic schedule for several rooms and record missed edges, water interventions and return-to-dock reliability. Compare the time saved with your current method, including after-use care. Those observations will be more informative than choosing solely by the number of sensors or the advertised washing temperature.
