Whirlpool reported third-quarter 2026 net sales of USD 3.68 billion (USD 3,677 million) on October 26, down 8.8% from USD 4,033 million a year earlier. Organic net sales were USD 3.64 billion (USD 3,643 million), down 5.4%.

Major domestic appliances in North America, the company's largest business, had sales of USD 2,495 million, down 8.3%; Whirlpool cited soft industry demand. Latin American sales rose 6.9% to USD 858 million. Small Domestic Appliances, the global segment that includes KitchenAid small appliances, had sales of USD 286 million, down 0.7%, with an 18.6% EBIT margin.

The group reported a net loss to common shareholders of USD 249 million, compared with a profit of USD 73 million a year earlier. The results release attributes much of the loss to a USD 124 million non-cash impairment of its equity investment in Whirlpool India, after a prolonged fall in that company's share price, and a USD 54 million charge linked to the bankruptcy reorganization of a significant Latin American trade customer. Ongoing earnings per share, which exclude such items, were negative USD 0.21, against positive USD 2.09 a year earlier.

Chief executive Marc Bitzer said cost reductions and pricing improved margins through the third quarter, but that recovery was slower than expected. Whirlpool now expects 2026 net sales of about USD 14.5 billion and an ongoing EBIT margin of 2.0% to 2.2%. The result follows a second quarter in which ongoing EBIT also fell.
