Shark Introduces PowerDetect UV Reveal Robot
UV-assisted detection targets stains that can be difficult to see.
News date:

Shark announced PowerDetect UV Reveal on March 3, 2026, introducing UV-assisted stain detection to a robot vacuum and mop. The launch focused on identifying spills and residues that can be difficult to see under ordinary room lighting.
The robot combines ultraviolet illumination with camera-based sensing to identify likely dirty areas and adjust its cleaning attention. That is a detection function: it should not be read as a claim that ultraviolet light itself disinfects the floor. The cleaning process still depends on the vacuuming and mopping hardware, the cleaning solution and the surface being treated.
Shark's product guidance describes UV Stain Detect as a way to locate visible and otherwise hidden spots on hard floors. It also retains ordinary setup requirements, including preparing the home for the first mapping run, so the sensing feature works within a mapped cleaning routine.
The U.S. launch was reported at a starting price of USD 1,299.99, with distribution through the brand's website and major retailers. WCB's PowerDetect UV Reveal RV3020XE profile tracks the named configuration. Model codes and regional packages remain relevant when comparing the U.S. announcement with the subsequent UK and other market offers.
