RoboSense Reports Sharp Growth in Robotics LiDAR Shipments
First-quarter robotics shipments reached approximately 185,500 sensors.
News date:

RoboSense reported a sharp increase in robotics-related LiDAR shipments in the first quarter of 2026, with 185,500 units delivered to the segment. The company's quarterly disclosure recorded a 1,458.8% year-on-year increase, making robotics approximately 56% of total LiDAR shipments.
Economic Observer's May 28 coverage described robotic lawnmowers as an important source of the expansion. Management expected mower-related shipments to exceed 600,000 units in 2026, compared with around 200,000 in 2025. That was a forward-looking supplier estimate, separate from the units already shipped during the first quarter.
RoboSense supplies sensing components rather than complete lawnmowers or floor-cleaning machines. Its robotics customers span several applications, including mowing, autonomous delivery, humanoid systems and commercial cleaning. A rise in the supplier's shipments can therefore reflect both new customers and changes in the mix of devices using LiDAR.
The report also discussed lower average selling prices as smaller and lower-priced sensor products accounted for more volume. The shipment figures consequently describe the component business, not finished-machine revenue. They do not establish the sales of any single mower brand, and management's full-year expectation remained distinct from the reported quarterly result.
