MOVA Took Me to Meet a Celebrity

On March 12, I received an invitation from friends at MOVA. They invited me to attend their launch event at the AWE exhibition hall and said a celebrity would be present that day. I thought about it. After living for more than forty years, I have not seen celebrities in person many times. This time, no matter what, I had to go and broaden my horizons.

So I arrived at Hall E1 early in the morning. After walking through the hall, I saw MOVA's complete product line. Its categories are now very complete. MOVA is a well-known company in our industry. In only a few years since its establishment, it has already reached tens of billions of RMB in sales.

At this AWE show, MOVA exhibited a very large number of products. From its core cleaning-appliance product line, to robotic mowers currently selling well on Amazon, to personal-care products, innovative 3D printers, drones, and more, everything was there.

I still remember that at previous CES and IFA shows, MOVA had already demonstrated extremely strong innovation capability. It exhibited a stair-climbing robot vacuum, later iterations with drone modules, and a robotic mower equipped with a robotic arm. Beyond mowing, this robotic arm may actually land in real applications faster than if it were used on robot vacuums.

Judging solely by product innovation capability, I think MOVA can definitely rank among the top companies in the cleaning industry. When I organized an exhibition in Suzhou last time, I also invited Mr. Shen, their head of overseas sales, to share insights on robotic mowers. The content was excellent. At that time, Mr. Shen mentioned that a robotic mower would break out in 2026. Sure enough, right after the new year, friends sent me messages saying that MOVA's robotic mower had already rushed into the top ranks on overseas Amazon.

In the afternoon, when the launch event started, the booth was fenced off because a celebrity was coming. Many fans were also lining up to enter. I waited in line for a while, and MOVA's friends directly brought me inside.

The launch began quickly. Mr. Yu from Dreame and several core Dreame team members were also there to show support. Four products were launched at the event: one was a robot vacuum, which, in addition to regular upgrades, added an interesting wet-roller cover to physically prevent carpets from getting wet; another was said to be the world's first 3D printer of its type; there was also a C-shaped high-speed hair dryer, with a small anti-static experiment performed on site; and finally a low-altitude aircraft priced below RMB 3 million. Life really is getting better—we suddenly dare to think about such expensive products.

Then came the main event: MOVA spokesperson Song Weilong appeared. The fans at the venue instantly screamed. Song Weilong is the typical fair-skinned, tall, handsome type. His face is especially small and very photogenic, unlike us: the moment we move close to a phone camera, our faces look like big pancakes.

Song Weilong interacted with the host and played several small games. After that, he took a group photo with Mr. Yu, Mr. Li Fei, and others. When I saw the group photo today, the person in the upper right corner of the picture was me.

MOVA's team is extremely combat-effective. In only a few years, it has reached tens of billions of RMB in sales. In the robotic mower track, MOVA has caught up from behind. Relying on its LiDAR solution and robotic-arm technology, it has firmly occupied a favorable position.

MOVA's team size is now around 4,000 people. It is no longer a small company, yet in product development it still keeps the efficient and agile rhythm of a small company. Companies like this actually have explosive potential. They have been waiting for the key opportunity in technology iteration. Once that opportunity arrives, MOVA will become a strong competitor that everyone in the industry cannot ignore.

MOVA still does not have an official Chinese name. What do you think MOVA's Chinese name will be?
